Students who plan an extended stay in Arequipa with the intention of doing volunteer work for a non-profit organization or NGO (= Non Governmental Organization) can count on EDEAQ’s assistance, at no financial cost. We will help you with placement, accommodations, and all other
aspects of daily living in Arequipa. The EDEAQ is familiar with a number of NGOs that are active in and around Arequipa, and they know us as well.
Students who are seriously planning such an undertaking are requested to mention this when
registering online (see dialogue box "Final Observations"). Please indicate your professional and educational background as well as your work preferences (children, care of the elderly, kitchen, office work, environmental awareness campaigning, etc.).
As mentioned above, EDEAQ’s assistance to find a suitable placement for you will be at no financial cost to you. But please be advised that EDEAQ’s offer is contingent upon enrolment in a language course at our school. For students at the Beginner I level, the minimum duration is
between four to five weeks of coursework, for those at the Beginner II level between three to our
weeks, and for those on Intermediate I level a minimum of between two to three weeks is required.
You have to bring (on a memory stick) your updated Resume (CV) with you, or you send it befote your arrival as MS-Word attachment, either in English, German or French (an English template, which you will find when clicking this link, might be of help). We shall then streamline and, if necessary, reformat your Resume, and translate it into Spanish. – These services will cost you USD 20.00, which also means that you will have, in the future, a professionally looking CV in Spanish, which you can always update yourself.
